About Ingrained Style Furniture Co.
Ingrained Style is a family business
that makes and sells its own brand of quality, handcrafted
country style furniture. Based in Calgary, Canada, Ingrained
Style’s retail store is in the heart of the Kensington
shopping district and provides furnishings for the bedroom,
dining and living room. Focused on quality and character,
Ingrained Style’s furniture is based on antique Canadiana
and Shaker styles with special attention to design, materials
and construction standards. To maintain quality and uniqueness,
local Canadian artisans handcraft most of the other offerings
in the store, such as mattresses, accessories, lamps, rugs
and accent pieces.
Family History
The owner of Ingrained Style is Michael
Dopf, who learned how to handcraft fine furniture from his
father Franz. Mike’s mission is to provide excellent quality,
fine furniture at a reasonable price while allowing the
customer to individualize their piece by choosing the
stain and finishing style.
Incorporated in 1996 as The Pine Shop,
Ingrained Style has over 3000 sq ft of retail space to showcase
almost all the catalogue products, as well as several custom
pieces. The Craftsmen Workshop, also in Calgary, has over
9360 sq ft of building and inventory space. This allows
Ingrained Style to carry most catalogue items in inventory
to minimize wait times.
Ingrained Style also has a
Custom Workshop to cater to our clients who want to
see their dream furniture become reality.
Craftsmanship
In this age of mass-production and warehouse
stores, Ingrained Style stands out against the grain. Our
furniture starts out as raw wood from select Western white
pine that is kiln dried to 7% humidity to minimize warping,
shrinkage and cracking. Our Rustic Log Home collection is
made from Lodge Pole Pine that we harvest, dry and hand
peel ourselves.
Ingrained Style craftsmen have over 85
years of combined experience and make each piece from start
to finish to the standards set out by Michael. There are
no assembly lines or mass machinery at Ingrained Style,
which allows us to maintain strict construction standards
such as dovetail joints, floating raised panel doors, and
mortise and tenon door frames.
